Whats up with the Gay scene in Boston?

It is notoriously hard to settle down, in Boston, really. I was told it takes up to 7 years to get any friend, if you are from other states or other countries. Indeed, it took that much time to get to know a handful of people. I initially thought it was a reserved nature from too much education, Not. The vibe has been going down hill well over 10 years. And, now it is all dead to me. But, I see the same happening in London. Gay bars are closing down fast. Guess being gay has become a mainstream.

My bf and I are in our mid 20s and wanna move to Boston in the next few years. I think lots of gay guys at clubs anymore are just so shallow and try too hard to fit in and be something they're not, hence the shallowness. When we do move maybe you could show us around!

That sucks. I wish you luck though.. I was actually thinking of moving to Boston and I'm gay lol so this makes me wonder. I live in Miami and it's the same here so idk if it's different anywhere else.

I grew up in Boston, moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1991. My family is there so I go back frequently. It is for sure not nearly as much fun as it used to be. Long live Buddies, The 1270, Chaps, Napoleon Club, Sporters etc.

It is not easy to meet good guys in South Florida either, but at least they are happier.

So yea I still have my accent, but I am glad I moved away from the cold weather and colder people. Life is hard in Boston.

I think the problem is partially due to many gay guys going to Boston's regular bars and nightclubs with their friends. Yeah, the gay bars fill up, but most of the people that go to them are looking for a quick hookup and sweaty grind and hardly anything more. It's not really hard to find a gay guy in Boston anywhere because there's so many of us. I would suggest just trying a night outside of the gay scene and I can almost guarantee that you'll meet at least a few sane, kind, gay guys.
