This video was taken just before my long ride on the weekend (i.e. no warmup)

I had adjusted the height down about 1/2 inch and moved the saddle back by maybe 1/2 inch just prior to taking this video.

  • is that frame comfortable on long rides

  • I switched over to a Softride when I started training for Ironman triathlons. It is a comfortable bike on long rides, especially helping with lower back issues.

    Unfortunately they don't manufacture Softrides anymore so you would need to find a used one or look into another beam biked called Titanflex.

    Cheers,

    @Kid

  • Yeah, I bought the Softride when I first started training for Ironman triathlons. It is very comfortable, especially for those with lower back problems.

    Unfortunately they don't make Softrides anymore so you would need to look at another type of beam bike (such as Titanflex) to get the same effect.

    Cheers,

    @Kid

  • I just bought my first trainer and have to ask - Is there a trick to attaching the bike to it? I find this one a HUGE pain in the butt! I don't have a front tire block. Does this help with aligning the back axle?

  • The front tire block on my bike trainer is mainly to level the bike so front & rear tires are at the same height, not for alignment.

    For attaching the bike, my trainer (a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine) has a lever that pops open and easily allows the rear wheel to connect. I did have to change out the wheel's quick release levers on the bike so it fit properly to the trainer.

  • Hey hoody,

    Someone suggested I wear my helmet to check head position on the video...sounded like a good idea to me.
