SolarDave: Which solar inverters do you like to use and why?
Dan Yechout: For Sunpower they have their own line of inverters, because their inverters have a reverse polarity. They are a positively grounded panel because of the technology they use SunPower takes the original inverters from the manufacturer either Xantrex or SMA and they flip the polarity on those so they are compatible with their solar modules and that is what you get to use with SunPower from an original Xantrex or SMA inverter.
For the rest of the systems we use typically Fronius or SMA is what we will use with our Sharp or Kyocera systems. We like those products because we have seen good reliablity with them in the field and they are as high efficiency is anything out there on the market. We have a direct relationship with Fronius in terms of purchasing so we get good pricing.
@Jamdirek what do you recommend? & can you use one large inverter for a string of panels or do you have to use one for every panel?

@Jamdirek The cooling fans do not take much current and only operate when the inverter is under load.

Celebrate a sun-powered future with a great tune, Sun Power Me, from Americana singer-songwriter Ben Sage here on YouTube at TheBenSage. Cheers!

All these inverters sucks. The energy hungry cooling fans inside them kill the very battery and reduce their efficiency.

My net-zero solar home uses the sunnyboy inverter ...I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas...I made a video about it called, "Preparing for Peak Oil"....

We run a 220volt ac. Are there inverters available for us. How can we compute the consumption of electricity in our house?
