@DamiettadCarnivalle When it switches to skirmishes, that would be East Kingdom Southern Regional War Practice a few years ago at the Ukranian Homestead in PA. The full scale is Pennsic.. which one, I could not say... maybe 36? Wicked good video though... Especailly since my shire is in the beginning.

There are debates in the SCA about the length of the period, whether the cutoff date should be 1600 or 1650, what the early cutoff date should be, etc. However if you look deep enough, you can find evidence in history for almost everything in the world (except Australia/NZ/South Pacific) getting to Europe before 1600, including Samurai. The SCA was founded by quasi-anarchists in the 1966, and that spirit of open-mindedness still pervades much of its culture.
