"Restoration of GSH reverses A.D.", is a bold statement. Even though we know what Fowkes means. Fowkes is not stating that the Damage done is reversible, but the biochemical/micronutrient mechanism that *leads* to AD damage is reversible, as he makes clear in the first slide. In other words Glutathione restoration is the first step in restoring the protective buffers.

@jontycampbell: Exactly. Cumulative damage may or may not be reversible. Cells that have undergone apoptosis or necrosis, axons that have been severed, and dendrites that have been pruned are examples of permanent damage. But in its earliest stages, the initial effects of the poisoning of sulfhydryl-enzyme systems is cellular "unconsciousness," which is reversible approaching 100%
