A video blog about Winclone, an application from http://twocanoes.com/winclone/ that allows you to image your bootcamp windows partition on your Mac and save the image. Then you can restore it at a later time. This avoids the need to manually reinstall windows.

  • Win clone is completely unreliable. The net is full of reported disasters. I would find another option.

  • @leunghkj

Try going into preferences and uncheck all buttons ans boxes except "use Mountable , etc...." should work. If not

search for version 2.3 which works with Lion.

  • @ibabaloo yes, but the T23 HDD 'winclone file' would have to be saved in your mac os x. i don't think you can save the file to an external HDD unless it is an official mac external HDD made for specifically mac os x. i'm not quite sure if those do exist but your better off saving the clone file in your mac os x and restoring from there.

  • Great information - I just used winclone for the first time to free up some space on my bootcamp partition - very good piece of software.

  • Thank you for the video. I was wondering if you have ever used Re-Fit to dual boot your Mac? With Re-Fit, you no longer have to hold down the option key to choose which OS to boot into. Re-Fit gives you an interface.

  • Can you help me? Can I use WinClone to make an image of my T23 hard drive running Win XP Pro onto an external drive, then install that image from my external hard drive to a partition created by BootCamp on my MacBook?

    Thank you, Stephen

  • @ilovetodayy o nvm. to anyone reading my post please disregard. i ended up not having enough space on my mother HDD for the mac os x partition in this process. stupid me. OP process is absolute.

  • i think the quickest way for this process is to use winclone at first with the mother HDD then use superduper to copy mac os x to the new daughter HDD then to just perform the restoration from the new copied mac os x clone using winclone again

  • Bloody good video!

  • @digdoug13 no you dont have too, it should remember it
