Owen Walking spring 2009 (Spina Bifida)

Owen is 27 months old and has spina bifida L1-L3. He has been walking with a kaye walker for a year now. He has recently started taking 1 or 2 independent steps, but last week he began trying to take off on his own. The first clip is from the zoo. (sorry the footage is so bumpy, I was holding Zane and he kept grabbing the camera.) Owen wanted to go to the next train car to play and didn't even hesitate and just took off. I could hardly believe it. When I finally got it on video he got plowed over by another kid. (He was fine.)

Owen is doing better and better all the time. Pretty darn good for a kid the doctors said would "never" walk. Never-smever! God is good!

Hi... He is just beautiful to watch! L1-L3 and walking like that! I can truly appreciate the tremendous effort it takes, with Diego being L5-S1. He is an amazing little boy. Thanks for sharing your videos, I've been following them ever since Diego was very small. I love how you edited the video to show how many times he tried getting from one train to the other! That is just like Diego, and many other SB kids I see... such an inspiration and a blessing.
