whats the deal with the visual feedback on the padkontrol? is that from the setup in ableton? ive seen it in a few padkontrol videos but never found an option for that so i've assumed its from totalkontrol or something.

no, I can't remember right now where (I am not in front of the controller right now-it is a shift function)- but there is a 'display' setup that has a few options for the pad light response- you can do chasing or such on the pad lights

Greatest portable live setup ever. Well done :D
Now a technicle question. Do you render and cut up your patterns first before bringing them into live? I produce most of mine on the fly with synths and effects in midi sequences in live and ive come to the point that its just too much to handle on the fly changes for live performances. Seeing this vid got me inspired to go the chop and simplify my setup.

I render pieces out and setup via triggers- some of the things I do choke my laptop up (which is a dual core 1.8 w/ 2 gigs of mem)since I do a lot of chopping/resequencing of .wav's @ 190bpm+ - some is still done live and all of the post effests run and are controlled live, but a lot of the resequenced loops have to be rendered in chunks in order to keep from jagging out the memory live
