The 2010 Kia Forte Koup wants to be a Honda Civic and it's pretty easy to understand why. The Civic has an image of fuel-efficiency that is supported by eye-catching styling and driving dynamics. The Kia Forte Koup so wants to be there.

Lots of cars have tried to become the Honda Civic — like the Chevy Cobalt, Mazda 3 and Scion tC — but Honda still sits on top of the sales pyramid. The Civic represented 339,289 sales in 2008, and when the recession began in earnest in June 2008, the Honda Civic was even the top-selling vehicle in the country.

  • I prefer the manual then a sloppy slow automatic

  • this is the thing i hate about some people, always underestimating cars for their rubbish badge, the forte koup is one of the best cars from kia, in fact, its one of the best cars to have if you're just got your licence, i rather drive this, than be seen in a civic like everyone else, im no kia fan but i can tell you that the koreans are slowly dominating the family car market both in terms of quality and performance, but mostly bang for buck...any car enthusiast knows that..

  • @janrdoh haha don't judge! i am an american and i drive manual, unlike most of my countrymen

  • @shobin05 True, any true enthusiast would readily admit that unless they are just abrand whore looking to talk shit.

  • The reason he finds the manual transmission to be sloppy is because he is American and they dont know how to drive manual.

  • We had a civic, it was pathetic. Just got 2012 Koup sx, LOVE IT!

  • -.- sloppy manual transmission? That just killed this review. I bet that with the "sloppy" manual you'd get the 0-60 time in high 6 low 7 sec range like Road&Track did. Fucking dumbasses. This is supposed to be a sporty car not a slob with an automatic.

  • @djmhyde No paul walker i'm talking about the Tremec TR 6060 Six speed MANUAL transmission with a duel mass fly wheel and a twin disk clutch. Which in addition to being in the CTS-V is also found in the mustang saleen, corvette, viper srt10, GT500, Camaro SS and ZL1 to name a few.

  • @01n2ocobra86 ricer? oh yeah, very cool your american Cadillac, with 550hp and an automatic transmission...perfect for a fat and lazy american full of McTrash...

at least rice is healthy hehehe

  • Reason for bigger motor, is it can get up to speed faster @ a lower rpm meaning less fuel. Every company has there own idea of motors. Performance is as easy as swapping drive trains. Imop honda has gone cheap on alot of things then ask for more cash for it. Oh im a honda head fyi

  • Maybe you should drive Hyundai's mannys before you give them some credit.

Honda is known for their superior manual transmission while their autos are somewhat sloppy.

It could be the other way around for Hyundai.

  • @jdmdcmn yea, except this isn't a Civic Si competitor, it goes against the regular civic.
