Only 11 horses in history have won the Triple Crown. It has been 33 years since the last TC winner. It is considered the Olympics of horse racing. Secretariat not only won the TC, he broke & set the track records for each (the clock malfunctioned during the Preakness). He still holds 2 of the track records. And ONLY Secretariat did the inconceivable...he INCREASED his speed throughout the entire race to set the track records. NO other horse or human has ever achieved that feat in HISTORY.

@mbrhorse12 I just want to say that I love Barbaro with all my heart, but I want to correct you on a couple of things. Barbaro never had the lead in the Preakness, and by the way it's spelled "opinion" not "opions". And technically yeah it is an opinion that Secretariat is the greatest to ever live, but it's kind of fact too according to some of the greatest thoroughbred racing historians. Hard to argue with two sensational records in the Triple Crown and a third unofficial one. Just my opinion.

@HedgeHogzFly we all have different opions like i think that Barbaro was probably the greatest race horse that ever walked the earth and you like Secretariat we all have different opions its not a fact that Big Red is the greatest is a opion and i believe that Barbaro would have won the TC with ease he won the Kentuck Derby by 6 lengths and he took the lead in the Preakness and then it happened so we all have OPIONS!

ok not 2 be mean or anything here but I really dont give a crap about Zenyatta! I'm more of a Secretariat fan! and no 1 and i mean no 1 can say any other horse is better than him! and no other race horse couldve beat him in the Belmont race he won wen he won the Triple crown! that was epic! i watched videos of it! It ticks me off when people try 2 say another racehorse is better than Secretariat! i mean really!

@ILoveLadySkywalker I'm not gonna argue. He'd probably have taken the crown, if not for his tragic accident. He was a brilliant horse.
