We were able to get a Permanent Magnet DC motor off of a treadmill. Thought about making our own but we didnt have enough time to get it done for our class.

The biggest reading that we were able to measure was 18V and 3A. The Fastest we got it going was in the clip and we didnt hook up the meter that time.

Now add a gearbox to it so u can really charge a battery bank ,with only 18volts without a load on it would fall a bit short of the voltage needed to charge a 12volt system ,you would need at least 24 to 36 volts without a load, your on the right track guys.Have fun always
