The Horizontal version can be built across entire wind corridors with almost unlimited Blades and power. this design in rivers or tides also allows fish to pass threw the open sides,and is not 300 ft in air.It uses wind ground pressure and suction from air foils it much easier to maintain and build. I'm not saying that it doesn't work but there is only so much energy in the wind and these drag type mills will extract 20% of that and that's what you get to measure and then turn into electricity or some other form of energy to use. Anything round cut in half and turned into a savonius will put out nearly the same amount and with very little effort and expense.

Might want to smooth out that 'step' you use to transition the blades...I assume that jerking increases mechanical wear.

A real world question here: How much useable power does this particular test model produce in terms of Watts of electricity at what RPM/windspeed?? It will be hard to convince investors without some hard baseline published data on the design capability...
