Vai seems like a cool guy, one of the luckiest musicans besides tim ripper owens both very talented to be in the bands of course but a rock resume as I call it all Vai has to say is Zappa, David Lee Roth, Alcatrazz and he's in without even picking a guitar up. I played one of those Jems and it felt cheap compared to jacksons and bc riches in the store , through a marshall JCM stack.
Today though I'd do a serious overhaul on his guitar taking his ideas and preferences and pushing it harder
