Purifying Waste Cooking Oil for Fuel (1/4)

This is a short series showing you my VERY LOW COST, HIGHLY EFFECTIVE system for de-watering, settling and filtering waste oil for use as a diesel supplement/alternative (subject to suitability).
Two Systems are shown; one for absolute filth contaminated with food/water/cigarette ends/fat, and the other for visibly clear oil only (simpler system).
All components are selected for cheapness and availability. The final filtration is done through vacuum cleaner bags (Henry's are good)....they can be burned for fuel when clogged with solid fats (see FATLOG series).

Go ahead and emancipate yourself from fuel slavery.

Other guidance (you must verify as current and valid)
Currently in the UK you do not require a 'Waste Carriers Licence' if you are collecting for your own use; you can use 2,500L/yr before registeing with HMCE to pay duty (about 30p/L), but you must keep a record of what you have used.

hi there i just picked up 120 litres of really thick wvo today and had to heat it up befor i could put it thru a 400micron barrel filter it has mostly gone thru the filter apart from about twenty ltrs of really crappy stuff like kebab meat etc which i got rid ov..i have put it in to a settleing tank which had another 100 ltrs of oil from a chinese..my question is with the oil from the kebab shop been so thick to start with will it in your opinion still be ok to mix it with the chinese oil ??
