It is a very funny book. I loved the history of the trail and the geology . I believe they are the oldest mountains on earth once towering higher than Everest but since worn down after 250 million years.

Absolutely loved this book! Haven't done much hiking in years, and don't know when I'll get the time, but hiking the AT is definately on my to do list now. A funny and informative good read.
