L.A. County firefighters found heavy fire at the front door and throughout this 2 story home in Cerritos, CA. It was pretty much a total loss fron an interior standpoint when the fire was finally knocked down.

  • The Captain giving his size up did mention that the home owner stated he had Acetyline tanks in the garage! As for the firefighter at the door... Smoke that thick, that is pumping out of the structure like that tells you that flashover is likely to occur! You are better off waiting, then getting hurt, or worse, killed! Additionally, the unknown factor in this video, is whether or not this firefighter's officer told him to hold off on hitting the fire! These are just my opinions.

  • Looked good to me. Knock the fire down, see what you got and keep going. Go easy, knowing that the roof may not have been vented. In that case, be ready for a very hot room. Keep the nozzle pattern narrow, or else very, very uncomfortable steam will go right through your turnouts. Stay low. No one said you had to stand up all the way. You'll be surprised how cool the floor level can be.

  • for God's sake ihfrbuff, the smoke wasn`t that thick and it`s not like he ran in with an uncharged line and disappeared. I assume you prefer to fight every fire from a master stream. maybe you should get a job selling skirts...

  • @0:10 Here comes the flashover!

  • I agree, def a rookie on the nozzle. STOP SHUTTING THE LINE DOWN.. Jesus christ let it run and knock the fire down. If not give up the nob and work for EMS

  • I feel bad for the guy who lost all of his possessions.

  • Rookie on the nozzle...LMAO

  • @ihfrbuff I heard the officer say for him to go ahead and hit it. But as for the other things you are excatly right!
