  • I'm a recent opera convert, and I'm so in love with it! I'm positive that I want to be an opera singer, but I've never REALLY sung a day in my life. I'm 19 with no voice...am I too hopeless to try?

  • @sweetpepper36 Great!! Me too...I'm 19 and I am a classically trained pianist, but it's never too late to sing, is it? Joyce started only in her 20's!

  • @SsteinwayS , exactly, Mirella Freni started off with Mozart and then went on to do Puccini , good luck with your career too. So is opera ur ambition, or hobby?

  • @Bonnie95XD Opera is my hobby...I'm a pianist and through my theory & history studies discovered opera in my early teens. I can sing bass, but not professionally or anything. :)

  • @SsteinwayS , I definitely will be an opera singer, whatever it takes, its my passion and it will always be my permanent obsession :D I think everyone should be introduced to opera, its sooo amazing, @sweetpepper36 , dont think its too late to start singing, Joyce dislike opera until she was 20, and studied it in her early twenties, if its really what you want to do, then work really hard at it if its your passion, its better doing something you love then doing something you hate :)

  • @Bonnie95XD Same with Sam Ramey & Natalie Dessay!

  • @Bonnie95XD Hehe...lucky you! Good luck on your career! I think most (if not all) great singers start off with Mozart! So... :) But it definitely can get boring if you sing it too much!

  • @SsteinwayS ,My family like opera, but they all say that I talk about it too much, I literally do. I can't wait till I can learn some Puccini , or Verdi, or Rossini, but right now my singing teacher has restricted me to Mozart, more specifically le nozze di figaro, but I still love Mozart all the same :)

  • @Bonnie95XD Me too! I'm 19 and I love opera...my family thinks I'm nuts. :P

  • @violinistx100 , I agree at how frustrating it is when people say that opera is for old people coz that's not true, I 'm only fourteen, but I love opera so much, I've become obsessed, I know that I 100% definitely want to be an opera singer. I just wish that there was a way to make people love opera or even like it, :)
