@xparodyx why would eastern slovakia declar independence??. its true that we would be rather with czechs tough... And probably you forgot about Kosice where is monthly average sallary above 600EUR with 5% of unemployed So don´t put whole eastern slovakia in to one bag!! Kosice have to take out from dump many many little vilages and towns and gypsi settelments while Bratislava region is only ONE CITY! And Kosice region Is almost bigest region in slovakia
:) and last thing I disagree with is a % of english speakers in secondary school.... 93%?? this is WAYYYY overestimated... :) 93 % LEARN english but they don't SPEAK english.. in fact there are very few students that speak VERY GOOD (or fluent) english..... I would say less than 20% can communicate in English with no problems at all... rest of them KNOW basics, they can lead basic conversation, but it is far away from good english :) same about german :)
For example. GDP (per capita) in Bratislava region is 33 124 Euro(148% of EU average). In eastern slovakia it is !ONLY! 9 663 euro (43% of EU average) :) so you know... I think that if Eeastern Slovakia would declare independence from west... :P It would be poor as Romania while west would be rich as France where is an average of 34 140 euro per capita :)
Well.... it's not 100% true to be honest... There are huge social differences between East and West of Slovakia. West of Slovakia is MORE developed while east of slovakia suffers from lack of motorways, good comunication system, lack of skilled labour and poverty is big issue there as well... :) it is obviously getting better but it still can't be compared to Bratislava region.
