The problem with using high magnification with a microscope is that the depth of field suffers. Helicon Focus permits us to layer images. This image was taken with a low cost ($49.95) microscope camera from Celestron on a Premiere MRP-5000 microscope. It was a first attempt at layering and then I used the 3D viewer in Helicon Focus and Camtasia to create this video.

  • I don't remember how many images I took at the time. But, each image was snapped as I changed the focal point. Then Helicon Focus created the animation.
