Wow...looking at Google Maps, Winola Road is only two overpasses up from Knapp Road. I remember when they demolished the old bridge while we were there (we heard the blast down the street), and then the next time we were up the new bridge was in place and it had the high fences on it. That bridge was where I saw the Freedom Train come into town - we got up at 4am to get down there to watch it go by, and then went into Scranton later to see the exhibits.

Thanks! I was surprised by all the stacks on this one. They had almost twice as many as they normally do.
What bridge was this shot from? My grandparents lived in Clarks Summit in the '70s, and I used to watch the Erie Lackawanna from the Knapp Road bridge - I recall a long straight similar to this angle.

This was shot from Winola Road. There are a handful of overpasses around Clarks Summit. Most of them have chainlink fences now (which makes shooting through them tough), but hearing a long train struggle up to the summit is quite a show nonetheless.

164 is the train to Philadelphia (counterpart is 165), these are the ones that run via NS between Sunbury and Philadelphia. 259 runs from Bethlehem, PA to Binghamton, NY.
