Memphis Belle

Boeing Aircraft Company came to build 12,750 Flying Fortresses. The B-17 "Memphis Belle" (Series 41-24485), was the first to complete the 25 combat missions between November 7, 1942 and May 17, 1943. This was the number of missions established by the command of bombers of the Eighth Air Force as a condition for returning home. The prize of this plane and its crew is impressive if we take into account that a fighter pilot gets As the title after five demolitions since destroyed eight enemy fighters, five more were left as "probable" and a dozen more as damaged. The Memphis Belle participated in missions in France and Belgium in addition to Germany by throwing a total of approximately 60 tons of bombs
