Unusual colourful tearing issue with Bad Company 2 BETA. Specs: Core 2 duo @ 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, nVidia 9600m gt, Windows 7 home 32-bit. Acer 6930G notebook.

FIX: To fix I forced DirectX9 mode...
Go to

C:\Users\User name\Documents\BFBC2Beta

And open up Settings.ini - change the line DxVersion=auto to DxVersion=9

This resulted in an increased framerate and no tearing.

  • It is not the problem omg you dumb asses , Just download Nvidia driver .

  • @dztz55 When I had this problem that didn't fix it, DX9, however did... haven't tried DX10 since...

  • Still can't find the Settings.ini file.. I have Vista..

  • @oskede C:\Users\User name\Documents\BFBC2\

If you have Vista or Windows 7 it is there...

  • I still have this problem on the full game. And that settings.ini i cant dint there....plz help

  • What OS are you running? If it's 7 or Vista then it IS there. If it's XP, then it's running DirectX9 already, and this fix won't help.

The folder in the real game will not be BFBC2Beta, but BFBC2.

  • @tacoman009900 get out of here console peasant! the men are talking

  • I bought a new videocard, a new screen and apply win 7 for that problem

  • To solve this problem you will need the following items, An Xbox 360, or PS3, an ethernet cable, an Xbox 360 or PS3 controller, a headset, an Xbox Live account or a PSN account, and Battlefield Bad Company 2 for the Xbox 360 or PS3. These items have to match each other, Xbox to Xbox, PS3 to PS3. Hope this helped :)

  • i dont have this problem on my laptop with 9600m gt, but i will still use this to increase my framerate xD
