my parents bought this horse for my 16th birthday, do you think he is lame, I think he may have a stifle issue?

  • I totally forgot I had posted this video. He did have a stifle problem in both legs. The damage to the stifles was so severe the vet said that with surgery he would never walk. He also had no feeling to the nerve endings in his hindquarters. After numerous vet checks and thousands of dollars we sadly had to put him down. He had suffered long enough. My parents did not do a vet check because they bought him for me from a trainer of 5 years Found out they had been drugging the horse Lesson learned

  • looks like something in the stifle. They defenitly should have got a vet check before a purchase!

  • @DewbieHaut no horse is good for nothing, and this video gives nooo evidence that he is good for nothing

  • i'd say have him trot and look at that im not good at telling if a horse is off except when theyre bobbing their head cuz i just started experiencing lame horses but ya vet check and check out his trot way easier to tell

  • hes good for nothing id have to say

  • ouch :/

  • it looks like his left back stifle is a little tender

  • Can't really tell from this video, but I think that it might be a common issue for barrel horses to have stifle issues, just like a dressage horse might tend to have trouble in the hocks.

  • I can see what you are getting at with the stifle comment - he has a bit of a 'hopping' gait doesn't he? but that might just be normal for him. 99% of the people commenting on here havn't a clue what they're talking about so this isn't a good place to get valid opinions - your best bet is a vet check. Otherwise, you could try working on his flatwork and see if he improves as he strengthens up?

  • Short strided left rear I think kind of hard to tell by video
