Alucard vs Anderson (Second Battle) Part II

Level Zero Alucard vs Nail of Helena Anderson. While the fight is defintely epic and by no means disappointing, I feel like a little bit more could've been done with this fight. Nevertheless as I said it is by no means bad and it's certainly a great fight.

It's also the first and pretty much only time we actually get to see not only a serious Alucard fight, but a downright pissed off one as well. Not to mention it's also the only fight in which Alucard doesn't completely destroy his opponent. There's a reason this fight is my favorite in the manga and while it may not have come up to my 100% expectation, it was once again, a great fight.

Too bad it had to end where it did, I was hoping they'd do the entire fight.

While they do not own Hellsing, I feel obligated to give credit to the HellsingCallToArms fan site of which I downloaded the OVA torrent. They have been great at providing us with legitimate Hellsing news and if you have not yet heard of them, I suggest checking out their site.

Hmmm, Is the thing Anderson is using "The one spear"? The spear that is supposed to be forged from a nail hammered into Jesus Christ and give one the power to win every battle? I really love how anime artists show a deep knowledge of foreign mythology and then completly fuck with it.

@conoba . Helena's Nail is one of four nails that was used to pin Jesus' hands and feet to the cross. With the way the wording is used in the fan translations and just not paying attention, I think people forget or just don't know that there is more than one Helena's Nail.

The only spear I know of is the Lance of Longinus which was used by a Roman soldier to finally kill Jesus while he was being crucified.

@MrDarudin I actually have, the new manga by Kouta Hirano. Gave it a read some time ago and it was defintely easy to see Hirano's specific art style to it. Because the manga had only started recently I couldn't really give it any sort of criticism. It defintely has that Hellsing mood to it though so once its finished or close to finishing (if it hasn't already) again it's been a while since I've actually checked up on it, I'll give it another read.

@gilowadept Anderson can regenerate injuries, however Alucard is using the Jack (the black pistol), a gun specially designed to stop/slow Anderson's regeneration powers. Notice how his arm was hanging by a piece of muscle? Alucard shot him there with the Jackal, so he couldn't put his arm back together.
