HELEN HAYES TRIBUTE

Helen Hayes won her first Academy Award in her first nomination for leading actress in 1932 for The Sin of Madelon Claudet, then in 1971
She would win her second oscar in her second nomination for supporting actress in the film Airport.
She was the first actress to win an Oscar for a supporting role after winning an Oscar for a leading role, She was also the first person ever to win the Oscar, Tony, Emmy and Grammy in competitive categories.

Excellent. It is tragic that so few of her great roles have been immortalized. Just some snapshots in costume and snippets from Airport or the Lovebug and some fine work in black and white movies. No clips from her theater work, or rehearsals\, no recordings of dialogue. but virtually all accounts she was to American theater what Kate Hepburn or Bette Davis was to American film.
