i live in upstate ny and about a month ago , we found some but now it seems to have been removed completely from the shelves again..

I have no idea, although I can guess that one of three things happened: Either I was right and these guys were fools to try to reintroduce a product known for killing women OR possibly, the sponge began causing similar problems once more and they quietly pulled them off the market again. Also, it could just be clumsy distribution, but I doubt that....

People forget that while some women DIED using the original sponge, I believe most of those were women who didn't follow usage instructions. If you leave those suckers in too long, they can become breeding grounds for toxic stuff, which leads to Toxic Shock Syndrome. This story was more about whether the Today "brand" was worth reviving. Most people equate Today with Toxic Shock, which questions the wisdom of reviving a brand that, in truth, killed its users.....

I recently started using the sponge and unless I have a really, bad, negative side-effect, I'm going to keep using it. It's convenient.
