for the rolls he is using his fingers in a one two three motion index first then middle then pointer

cant really see but sounds like a finger roll ,sounds like i play it with a right hand finger roll d-d rolll- k t d roll-k-t.....ok not so flawless like his offcurse,,,or try change the t with a slap

awesome mike....I've had a darbouka/doumbek/tabla lol for about 6 years. My Egypt ex called it a tabla. Anyway I can almost make the sounds you make but only can do it with the traditional djembe position. I wish I could do it like you in the sideways position. I always end of hitting it so hard I keep knocking it back. How do you do it bro?

When he is doing the more intricate ornamentation on Beladi, is he doing a finger roll with his right hand? I've been rewinding for like 10 minutes, but I'm still confused

I'm not the guy in the video but no doubt you are hitting to too hard. I also use the upper part of my arm to hold on a bit.
