Playing with a Praying Mantis

A Praying Mantis was in our garage and was nearly stepped on. This is my favorite insect. They are quite rare and I only see a few each Summer around my home and at the farm. We let it go in a safe location once we were done playing with it.

they are just the coolest insects,found one at work and got him back in the bushes where he'ed find some nice tasty bugs

We used to get praying mantises around my parent's house. One time we had one on a plant that attracted wasps, and we got to sit and watch it catch wasp after wasp and eat them. Mantises are my favorite and wasps are probably my least favorite, so it's a fond memory. :) I'm glad you're sharing bugs with your kids. I have always been a bug lover.
