Paul Abbot created both. The US version is far more cinematic. And it's grittier. This is shot more like a soap opera, but I like it. Also , they seem way poorer in the US version.

I think that the us and uk versions are very different and cannot be compared because you can clearly see the different backgrounds and if the producers/director/ actors of the us version are smart enough to evidentiate that than we've got a good show if not than the copy is not worth mentioning.
