  • Thanks for the feedback, Wendy.

I made the recording myself on my own camera, therefore it is my property. There was no sign at the pub saying that recording was banned, breaching any laws, regulations or personal liberties. At the time of posting I didn't know your name, but have since found out and will be happy to edit the title.

I've seen a lot of Autoharp players on youtube, but none of them can hold a candle to you, you are the best there is!

  • Identifying information:

  • Thanks for the info. It was on 16 Mar 2008 at the Cabbage Patch pub, I went to see Bill Evans and Megan Lynch and this lady was on before them. She was very good, although a bit miserable!

If you were there on the night, you would understand what I meant. She was very unhappy about something or someone in the audience and made some comment to that effect. She just seemed a bit irritated, so maybe miserable was a bit OTT. I had never been there before or seen Wendy before, but I'm glad I did as she is a wonderful performer. Apologies to Wendy and her army of fans for the 'miserable' comment - I speak as I find! A.

  • @montyhalls Venues don't write laws - they don't have to prohibit the use of recording equipment explicitly, because federal statutes still prohibit live bootlegs (but they can kick you out). The footage would be your property if you'd taken measures to establish ownership, but you'd still have to acquire some form consent from the other parties to make that claim legit. But that's all just FYI. It's a lovely performance! Thanks for posting it and doing right by Ms. Grossman.

  • How dare you call Wendy "a bit miserable"??

As a TwickFolk regular I can assure you Wendy does most things to extremes!

  • Thanks for the compliments.

In general, it's considered polite to ask permission before recording even with no ban. What could get you in trouble with some performers (and YouTube) is the issue of posting clips to YouTube - the song is copyright to the songwriter, and he has the right (especially as it's never been recorded) to demand it be taken down since he didn't give permission, and performers also have rights over the use of recordings. Just a heads-up. Thanks for retitling it.

  • If you see her playing banjo, can you film that please?

With Wendy's permission of course ;)

  • Liked it :)

  • OK...but would you mind retitling the video with the correct information, please, so that people looking for my stuff will find it?

(In general, I'd advise asking the musician's permission before recording, and also before posting.)
