Tremble Island, aka Turret Rock is located in the middle of Nakwakto rapids. It is reputed to shake during large tides when the current may exceed 18 knots. The tide shown here was a mediocre 8 or 10 knot neap tide. There are at least 250 kilometers of inland waterways that comprise the Seymour & Belize inlet complex and the only connection with the sea is through Nakwakto rapids. Inside the rapids the water level varies by, at most, a couple meters, outside the narrows it can rise and fall by up to six meters. The density of wildlife here is astonishing. The currents bring a torrent of nutrients that support a thriving ecosystem. Tremble Island is one of the world's best cold-water dive spots, with gooseneck barnacles and abundant filter feeders, but the slack doesn't last long.
Definitely one of my all time favorite sites to dive. Got violently pulled off the site once in a huge whirl-pool... almost lost my camera that time.

Do you have any video of the Nakwakto dive? I'd like to see it if so.

@cyberhuninvan Sorry but I shoot with a Nikonos... old school with slide film.... I've dove Tremble Rock many times and have great wide angle shots though.

I'd like to see those pics if you ever scan & upload them somewhere - Picasa is a good free host for stills.
