I used to play barrence on college radio in rapid city s.d. in mid eighties love his music.

I just realized where this was shot...Nightstage, a club in Cambridge that rarely hosted local bands, but focused more on national (mostly jazz) acts. It definitely offered more room and better lighting than other local venues, but it wasn't as fun as seeing Barry at the Rat, or the InnSquare or the Channel...

Shot at the club in Cambridge.

Best thing I have ever seen.

Barry and I worked together as store dicks at the coop in Harvard Square in the early eighties. That's when he was an aspiring musician. Being a store dick was the most fun I was ever paid for.

Looks like the Paradise or maybe Streets (long gone) in Boston. I see Phil n Phlash and the Franks in the crowd so we should ask them. Band members - Peter Greenberg - guitar,
Phil Lenker - Bass, Howie Ferguson - drums, Steve Legrega -sax Great Rare Footage - Thanks for posting

big day out FTW!
I saw Barrence Whitfield on the TV and thought ESQUERITA-that's about the closest to the music.
The reason bands like this are little more than Cults is because of the appalling state of today's rock music which makes junk like Led Zepellin.the sex pistols and grunge as big as they are-the fact that rock critics write books about garbage like the sex pistols is telling you lies and theres enough gullible people to believe them

Rock 'n' Roll energy high as it can be turned up!! When I watch Barrence Whitfield, I think of Littel Richard, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
