i believe the most powerful trio is magus, luca and crono because they have the most powerful magic in the game and because there is no marle you have to have a lot of megalixirs that can be obtained very easy

Lucca, Marle and Chrono are a powerful magic team, for bosses with a weakness for magic, however a part of lavos is imune to it, so you need primarily physical attacks.

In other words screw the magic just kick his ass.

Just use Chrono, Robo and Frog, they're the strongest trio.

No joke; upgraded enough those three can kill anything.

I remember the first time I played this; this game was like a riot a minute.  The funniest part was the ending were Marle finds out Frog is her ancestor!
