This is a setup from the guard when your opponent is trying to turn your head in an attempt to create space and posture up.

  • Awesome technique! I've been a fan of you guys for a long time, and I've just recently started "officially" training. But question- what should I do if as soon as the person feels they're in arm triangle position, they defend by "answering the telephone"?

  • @nateisgreat1134 TAKE THE BACK! It's wide open because they have already allowed their arm to cross the center line of your body so the path to the back is waiting for you!

  • I live in GA in Woodstock, what gym do you guys train out of because i would love to become involved.

  • @MrGatz08 GFC Martial Arts in Loganville with Ramonte Chatman and Aaron King is where I'm usually training at. That being said, that's a hike from you. We'd love to have you in Loganville, but there's also some top-notch guys up a little closer to you.

  • what belt rank are you in JJ?

  • Unlike other sites out there, I have NO PROBLEM pushing other sites that I like. That is the who reason behind Submissions 101. No one person has a monopoly on knowledge or we have different ways of doing things.

  • tuff guy :)

  • @TechniquePrevails Very true, I have a friend who trains at AMAC, that seems to be the best place close by.

  • nice

  • when your talking about how hard it would be to grab his arm, what if he straightens his arm out against the mat sort of like bracing himself so he can get back to a normal guarn position... Also, what if he doesnt use his whole forearm but instead uses a gi choke with the wrist.. will this still work??

  • Really good move. Never seen that student before. He looks like he doesn't know what laughter is.

  • @Clayxbmx
