OK... For everyone with Windows 7... go to your little speaker icon in your task bar, right click, go to recording devices, if Stereo Mix does not show up in your options, right click in that empty area, make sure both "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" options are checked. Stereo Mix should appear, then right click on Stereo Mix, and select Enable. You should be up and going then.

What version of Windows are you using? I can't do it on Windows 7.

Thanks so much!!!! You just gave me a big hint and it helped A LOT. I wanted a clean recording and recording from mic was a no-no. Works with Windows 7, just go to Control Panel>Sound>Recording and enable and make "Stereo Mix" as default. Yay!

Great tutorial! But I have a problem... it doesn't show the Stereo-Mix thing in my audio options, there is just line-in and microphone.
Aahhh, old Youtube. I remember when it was like that. Good times.
