1982 Honda Odyssey FL250

Walk-around of the 1982 FL250 Honda Odyssey. It hasn't been running in 17 years! It was originally left because it had lost spark. So first we tried new coils on it with no success, we then tried another CDI module still with no success. Eventually it came down the alternator, so we pulled of the starter and one of the M5 nuts securing the starter cup to the rotor was missing, this nut was sucked into the rotor magnets and chewed the hell out of one of the stator coils. We replaced this coil and presto! It threw a 1 inch long spark! The only other thing it needed was a full clean out of the fuel system because everything was blocked with stale fuel.

it does have a battery if you know what your talking about.

@polly018 No battery. Engine generates power for everything only when it is running. I believe the battery is optional along with electric start, this has neither.

i have the same one and but its not getten no spark does a wire go to the fly weel

@davidleon2012 yeah ignition spark comes from inside the flywheel. magneto is very similar to the ones on 70-110cc honda motorcycle engines
