the second and third place people were a little more likable and funnier, probably the reason for people believing they were better. However, if you look closely at this speech, it is the writing and really professional performance that made Laura win. No one else had that awesome structure for a speech and no one else had quite such an impact. At the same time, no one else was connecting themselves to the speech enough. She was good and she deserved the win.

Absolutely wonderful. Laura was so raw and allowed her personality to shine through while maintaining a sense of professionalism. Every sentence had a purpose and she wasn't flaying everywhere with handgestures (each one had a distinct purpose). Not only was the humor and baseball theme more than appropriate, it enhanced the entire delivery of the oratory. In fact, the performance itself was fantastic.
Another phenomenal Apple Valley Original Orator/Oratory :)
