THE LAST GLASS premiered by BalletX during its Summer Series, July 21-25, 2010 at The Wilma Theater in Philadelphia, PA. Neenan's friend James Ihde (Pennsylvania Ballet) recommended that he listen to BEIRUT a couple of years ago, knowing that the music might inspire him to create a ballet one day. The rawness of the music allows the dancers to take on an intense theatricality and gives them the space to develop strong characters and story lines throughout the dance. The Last Glass refers to the song used in the 7th movement of Neenan's piece, the song "Un Dernier Verre". Music: by BEIRUT "La Banlieue", "The Akara", "A Sunday Smile", "The Penalty", "Prenzlauerberg" "A Call to Arms", "Un Dernier Verre [Pour La Route]", "Elephant Gun". Lighting Design: Drew Billiau, Costumes: Martha Chamberlain. Dancers: Laura Feig, Ian Hussey, Jennifer Goodman, Colby Damon, Chloe Horne, Tobin Del Cuore, Tara Keating, Kevin Yee-Chan, Anitra N. Keegan, Matthew Prescott.
