@makala291: Also, it is NOT cheap meat. It has a high price tag as it is a delicacy in many European Countries and almost all of the meat that the US will be producing will be shipped overseas. Even if it were legal for horse meat to be in dog or cat food, those companies would not be able to compete with the high prices offered from overseas.

@makala291: Horses have not been slaughtered inside the USA since 2006 (legally at least) Thanks to Obama (asshole) horse slaughter will be legal again. Instead of fixing the loophole that stated horses could be shipped to either Canada or Mexico for slaughter he just lifted the ban. Additionally the Equine Protection Network helped pass a law making it illegal to have horsemeat in pet food. it can be found in the form of Animal by products, along with all the other ground up mush from animals.

at 1:27 i worked on that tram and it is not mean. After 2 steps the tram has a thing where is rolls and the horses don't pull. They all all very heathey horses and all only do 7 trips to the island and back wich is no more than 500 meaters there are more then 7 horses that work there so they get lots of days of. Please take of this pick of it is a great place and you are giving it a bad name.

@horsemainiac: Horse meat is banned in pet food in the US. Its not even in Alpo anymore. It was banned due to the high levels of toxins in the meat.
