Taking a page from FreeKeene.com activists I decided to 'Robin Hood' the meter maid yesterday in Greenfield, MA. The town had just installed their new revenue generating machines so this was definitely a first for her. This is great activism that helps the community, gives less money to the state and highlights the thought pattern of a state agent/worker. In the video below this woman claims I harming the community by saving people from $10 parking fines.

  • I would love someone to do this in Detroit! come to the D ademo..

  • Greag f'ing video man!..

  • I like this.

  • did I hear the meter maid refer to the people she was ticketing as customers, Just like the tax collectors calls the tax payers customers. Is customer the correct word if he is forced to pay money? The proper word should be victim.

  • Love it! I wanna room with you guys! LOL!

  • Only u losers would harass an old lady while she's doing her job

  • LOL, -- you don't pay taxes because your unemployed.

  • @snowmchristv

The meters are there as a tax, usually to supplement the cost of something else. Where I live they just put in a huge five story parking garage. It's actually one of the tallest man made structures in all of down town. To pay for it they used stimulus money from the federal government, the rest of it is being payed by our meters. The meters here are usually free after 4:00pm. Now they will cost twice as much and you will have to pay until 6-7:00pm.

  • a classic. should be played in schools.

  • in San francisco I thought to myself why did they invent meters or what it would be like without them? One thing I hate is when I try to shop at a store you cant get a parking space. Does the meter make you do your business in a timely fashion so somebody else can park and do there's? What happens if people just park there doing no business, now the business suffers cuz we cant park to shop. Im not sure if there a bad thing?
