--- PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION!! --- I review the Wii2HDMI adapter. Hopefully after this video you should be able to deduce whether it's worth getting this little device or not. Specifically if you have an HDMI/DVI adapter on your Computer monitor this will be your best friend. If you have a television like me, stick with the Component Cables.

I have since returned this item and received a full refund (24€). This is NOT the Wii2HDMI from 'Nanoya.com' this is an adapter from Ebay.

Despite what I said in the video I found that the device had problems with 'cream' and 'purple' colours. 'Cream' would come out Yellow and 'Purple' would come out Blue.

I tested this adapter on 2 different HDMI cables, and a television and a computer monitor. While the quality of the image is superb with the adapter the colour and also perhaps the brightness really isn't... Though with some tweaking I am sure it could be ok, I guess. Definitely your only option to playing on a monitor more-or-less.

The verdict: Get a Component cable, the colours will be a bit dimmer and slightly washed out but you will have all the right colours there. If you can afford it, buy an official Nintendo Wii brand set of cables. Not some cheap ones like I did. Then you can be sure you are getting the most out of your Wii.

I am guessing that the Nanoya.com brand Wii2HDMI adapters are probably a lot better than this adapter I got from Ebay... though I will be sticking with my cheap 3€ cables.

In the end you can't really convert an analogue signal to a digital one anyway.. though this adapter did what it was supposed to do. It just didn't do it well enough.. I also had no problems with sound at the menu like many other people have complained about in other reviews and comments.

  • Do you realize that you samsung tv has seperate video setting for EVERY INPUT?

So it's no wonder that there's a difference in vidoe this way.

    Prepare you vid next time.

The only thing this thing does is scale the image to fullscreen instead of the scaler in your tv.

and it makes it possible to connect your Wii via HDMI connection.

I have the official unit and have similar settings for componenet and HDMI. No difference if settings are the same. The input signal just changes, wich the tv accepts

  • @Hielkenator I don't get what you're trying to say... it didn't matter what Video profile I chose the colours were always wrong. There was no yellow and the purple was far too strong. On top of that I didn't have the official product. Just a copy probably.. trust me I fully tested the product before sending it back, even if I missed a thing or two in this video. Peace.

  • You can edit the video in the enhancements there is light icon to make the video brighter or darker.

  • @SamuelgetsHacked87vr No there isn't ;) and I don't want to mess around with my Tv's settings just to make my Wii look better when I barely play my Wii anyway.

  • No cable/converter will provide "anti aliasing". That is done at engine level.

  • @Ninchiboy the ps3 plays 720p most of the time, and the xbox upscales to 1080p. also, the wii already has 720p support.

  • so can someone explain me on detail?

1.is the quality looks better than component cables?

2.1080p, so this mean its resolution is like ps3 and xbox360?are you sure?

  • @glitchyjoe64 I have absolutely no idea. If the problem is because of your Wii then definitely. If it's because you have a bad Cable then no. It depends entirely on what is causing the problem.

  • @Kutittaa With my component cable the screen shackes and blankes out from time to time. If i plug that into my Wii2HDMI add-on, will the screen still do that?

  • so you really need component slots? does this wii2hdmi thing work with composite cables? sorry but im confused now
