i just got fired today for being late. i just cant sleep at night i got problems. but it was the first time ive been fired and im glad i can relate to someone whos been fired before
Over the next eight years I did temp work, then worked permanently at Cigna Health Care (Intracorp) until a layoff on June 13, 2005. I had already planned to sell my place and got an offer on the very day I was laid off. Moved back to my hometown to an inherited home where I now live in retirement.
The drill seems to be the same everywhere--you are called into a conference room with your supervisor and someone from HR and dismissed.
I moved to Dallas on September 16, 1967, to take a job at Chas. Dennery Bakery Supply, Inc. as an order clerk. Paul R. Wallis was my supervisor. We got paid on the 15th and last day of the month. On November 15, Mr. Wallis handed me my check and said "that ain't the job for you". However, on November 29, 1967, I was hired on at Lone Star Gas Co. where I remained for 30 years until a merger with DP&L formed TXU and resulted in early retirement.
