  • @scienceboy639 most sirens have a timer that shuts them at 3 minutes of sounding but there are cases in many cities were sirens are tested for more than 10 minutes, during a tornado warning, several counties will sound their siren for an extended period of time to get the warning out. Some sirens, like a thunderbolt has a run time of 15 minutes before it needs to cool, but I`ve heard of some going for over a half an hour before they were shut-off with no damage to the siren.
