This video is brought to you by TECH LAB, 1700 21st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144 (206) 508-1929. Please check out our website http://www.techlab102.com for more computer or cell phone tips and tricks.

Be sure to have a T4, ABS praying tool, philips 00 screw driver for the repair. The alignment of the new touch screen onto the old LCD can be tricky, be sure to take your time on that when separating the old touch screen from the LCD which you're going to reuse. a hair dryer or heat gun should do the trick, but remember not to have the heat source directly above, be sure to keep the heat source in motion to avoid burn on the LCD.

Have fun, this job is easier than the original HTC G1 and it should take less than 30 mins from start to finish.

  • Hi, I used this video as reference to change the housing for my MyTouch3G. Unfortunately, I had purchased a 32A housing (in other words, for HTC Magic). I was wondering if you could refer me to any online shop that actually sells a 32B or a 1.1 MyTouch3G (before the addition of the 3.5mm headphone jack), or if you have an online shop where I can purchase this from. Please get back to me, thank you. If anyone else knows, please let me know as well!

  • @wheresbillay have you tried ebay?

  • Thanks for the video. It would have been a little bit more helpful if the angle of the video was looking down. this would have helped to see more clearly.

Either way, it is obvious you know what you are doing and I have a feeling you will be receiving my broken MyTouch which I haven't even finished paying for,

  • @seandelevany hahahahah....sorry for the deed. yes thanks for watching and your suggestion of the angle. have been experimenting on a few different takes to make the upcoming videos easier to follow. will be posting a HTC HD2 tutorial soon.

  • so if i get this right... the screen consists of a digitizer and a lcd screen... so if both are broken then both will need to be replaced? is this correct?

  • @vincyjay yes both need to be replaced.

  • Thanks a ton mate

  • @iniwebdesign ,, ive tried looking for the mytouch 3g with no 3.5 mm jack housing ,, how u get urs ?

  • hi my friend touch g3 his top glass is broken .the LCD and the digitizer working fine it just the glasses on the top how i can change it?

  • @yassllen Was it hard? I just ordered the part, and I'm a little scared because this is the very first time I've done something like this. The downgrade must of killed the touch screen or something, because the touch screen is no longer working and it's brand new.

  • It'd be cool if you didn't skip steps.

  • thanks, just changed my screen, but it does need a better angle !

  • @baydood i did but it did not go well. i had problems with the giro and digitizer glue. unless there is a vid to help you along i would not reccomend it. i did not end up fixing it i ended up using my insurance.

  • @nismogizmo did you replace the screen? my mt4g screen just broke as well

  • Worked great for my 'Mytouch' !! I have the first american edition of 32B without 3.5mm jack and the LCD I got off ebay worked and fit perfectly.
