Girl, people are closed minded especially with anything related to African related things eg. hair, clothes, dance etc...keep it moving
-
that is so messed up
people always assume afro textured hair is messy just because its not the typical bone straight hair
that was unfortunate

LOL I feel the SAME way. Luckily, my place of employment has adopted a new lean and casual dress code (jeans, sandals etc) anything goes and I feel much more confident. Interviews are rough, but I just pull the hair up in a bun and twist the ends town and pin up. People just aren't used the cotton-like beauty that is our hair!

I feel that same way where I work. For me, it's because I'm the only one here that has my hair in it's natural form. So it's a culture shock for everyone else, but I'm learning not to feel so insecure about it. I'm wearing a suit right now! lol

I have the same feeling everytime I get dressed for work. I wear twist and twistouts to work. The slacks and button down shirts makes me feel limited with what to do with my hair. Once I get home and switch to tank and jeans or a dress- I'm happy and comfortable. I know this video is old but I'm glad I saw it cause I know I'm not alone with that feeling so it doesn't feel strange anymore. Just a feeling that I will have to force out of my system. Thx for the vid. :-)

Your video topic reminds me of a song I hear on glamizini's channel, "I gotta be me, me is who the Lord has called me to be". Thanks for the video, I think a lot of us can relate :) Oh and if you want to hear the song, I believe the singer is named Kevin Shields. Blessings and have a wonderful day being you!!

Ugh! YES I have felt that way, but when my hair doesn't go with my outfit, or is just not fit for a formal event or an event that requires me to dress up, I just gel my hair back and put on a ponytail. Or find some straight wigs. They work nicely. I'm about to do that because I don't know what else I should do to my hair for tomorrow. Don't do this too often because it's terrible for your hairline after a week of doing this. Or you could gel the top of your hair back and create a bun..

I agree when I am at work I feel one way and when I am home I feel different. I feel more free at home and with my weekend clothes. I am glad I am not the only person that feels this way.

yes!!!
ur so right. i just had that same experience this morning about my hair. i put on a different shirt and was ready to go! :D

no its a myth, don't cut your hair.
you can do that if you want your ends even but cutting your hair will not make your hair grow faster. it will take longer for you to grow your hair the length you want it.
I thought it was true but then left my hair alone for a year and my hair is now down to my bra
How did you make this hairstyle?

I think it was a twist out

You have to find cuter suits. Suits with flavor.

Ahhh I just don't like suits, but I just do my own style it tends to work out better than trying to wear something you don't really like that much lol :)

when you shop for your hair products do you go to the beauty supply or like walmart? i recently decided since watching your vids that i want to start going natural, but i have no clue where to get the products you use. can you help me out?

I support black owned beauty supplies or health food stores when it comes to purchasing natural hair products. I can find certain things at Walgreens like the BioInfusion detangling conditioner or get Giovanni products from CVS or Target but it depends on what I need. I'm hittin up the African spot for my shea butter today :)
