Having made several trips out to the Salton Sea this term as part of my graduation show as well as my personal project, I've accumulated quite a few images of the area representing both the overall landscape as well as the mood and feel of a place seemingly long since forgotten by the rest of the world. It is both eerie and overwhelming interesting to me that a place such as this can exist only 2 hours from Los Angeles and yet feel as though part of a third world nation born out of the aftermath of some sort of apocalyptic event.
Having said that, these are the images that I've accrued on my many trips out there over the last couple of months. I intend to return to continue the project and to create a wider range of images that better capture a more focused narrative, but I believe that within this collection lies a start to something big.
