QTVR enables a user to view objects at multiple angles and panoramic images at a full 360° angle. For this test, I created a box in modular and then in Lightwave I followed a tutorial where I positioned the camera in various angles and moved the box on an angle before creating a keyframe, I repeated this process until all of the box area has been covered by the camera.
When exported as a QTVR, the user can drag the mouse cursor over the object, hold down click and drag the box to spin the box. The user can also click the + and -- signs to zoom in and zoom out. When uploaded to youtube, the interactivity is disabled and it simply turns into an animation of a spinning box.
This is a very exciting way to interact and view 3D objects online such as planets and to zoom in on a planet to view details such as the surface and craters, something otherwise impossible. By using QTVR a user can also view a full, interactive 360 image of inside a stadium or famous places such as Trafalgar Square in London and the red square in Moscow. Perhaps the closest the viewer can get to experience the sights without actually being there.
