A published tourist destination well known to all back packers coming through Vietnam, Hoa's Place is destined to fall to the redevelopment ax. Hoa, a buddy of Marine CAP Unit Charlie 2-2-4 when he was a boy, is a friend of all Marines living and passing through Da Nang. Come with us and raise a beer to Hoa's Place with the ex-pat community of Da Nang and Hoi An. Gone but never forgotten.

Looks like a good time was had by all. Are there a lot of Ex-pats living in Da Nang?

@Saito56 Not sure. There seems to be the same people who come to Hoa's on Sundays. Some come up from Hoi An. Then there are backpackers coming through. Hoa has a cheap boarding house for the backpacker crowd. In Da Nang there are groups of expats who generally don't intermingle. There are Japanese, Koreans, school teachers, retirees, NGO workers, Christians and we all don't sure the same values or language.

This is a travesty! I will always hold dear the times I've spent at Hoa's. Best place to stay in Vietnam!

ah man thats a shame, one of the best weeks of my travels was spent at Hoas place. great food, great hosts and an amazing location, shame to see it go
