Dilantin:Side Effects..Suicide?

Ive been on this one for around 6 years.

i wish i could find a way without it.

im very worried about the long-term effects

1. Depression- Check

2. Loss of Memory- Check

3. Bad Balance- Check

Am going thru all these. But the suicide thoughts have been frequent lately. I hate this medication. I've told me doctors about the balance and he said it was normal. i don't know what to think of them anymore!!

yeah the doctor I have now is the only one who has ever talked to me in any way about things. Unfortunately no one seems anxious to let me see if I could go without them.

They ha d trouble with m y levels recently and due to a miscalculation instead of a level of 20 I ended up at 8. Thing is, I was fine. I had no more trouble there than at 20 or 32. I don't know how well I would've continued doing but seems odd we didn't try.

haha yeah i always thought that about the titanic movie.anyway on a serious note.im on this phenytoin dilantin shit ..about 8 years now .memory loss .i used to joke about it .i remember when i watched that movie momento ,i just thought i was watching myself so found it boring,you know id wrinte shopping lists on my arm in codes and pictures and when i was at the shop id think what the blank does that mean.well u wrote it. dont give me a hard time.was the basic internal dialogue.

matt how much are you taking? i JUST started taking dilantin, i'm on 300mg a day, taken all at night.
