Many things...First to make sure the person is still breathing and has a pulse(and resuscitate her if she doesnt). If so, keep the victim's airway open....also gather important details such as the medical history. Monitor the person and make sure she doesnt get worse (if she already is/did get worse, the EMT is gonna have to make decisions).Fainting can be caused by anything, its good the victim was treated by a specialist in the prehospital setting.

A Degree in Paramedical science to do exactly what in the field?? Havoc your an idiot and obviously don't know what your talking about, a degree is not required for advanced prehospital care or to perform ACLS treatment modalities and in trauma definitive care is in the Operating room. Were not doctors asshole were Paramedics, You can get your degree and shove it up your ass.

Holy shit people. Do you expect a layman to know the difference between CFR, CFR-D, EMT-B, EMT-I/85, EMT-I/99, EMT-P and EMT-P/CC? If you do, consider yourself an EMS whacker. I don't think the faintees cared what she was as long as she did something.

@tdhooge how so? And you do know that a paramedic has to go to school for EMT-B first before they can become a Paramedic so saying that EMT's save paramedics butts is stupid their the same thing except a paramedic has more training than a EMT-B

LOL Paramedic Training in the states is a joke... Here in Canada Paramedics can undergo a 4 year Bachelor degree program in Science specializing in Paramedicine. They can under go an additional year or 2 to specialize in Critical Care/Advanced Life Support. Either way to be the highest level of a paramedic in canada you must undergo 4 years of Higher education. In other countries such as Australia or England paramedics also have Degrees in Paramedicine or Paramedical science.

she was a pre-hospital health care provider.... weather or not she was called a medic or an emt is irrevalent she acted when she didnt have to and assisted fellow citizens with care, to the best of her ability and scope of practice.... besides it was not the proper time or place to correct the president elect ..... i hold both emt and medic certs in three different states as well as nationally...get off ur pedistal and give credit where credit is due! we are all vital part in the ems system

@bled12345 , in The US, EMT BASIC is 6 months, EMT I 3 months PARAMEDIC 18 months. SOOOO here in the US by the time you get your "Paramedic" thats 2yrs college, Canda can shut theor pompus mouths...
